Terms of Use

What FRANWORLD does, what it deliberately does not do, and what each side is responsible for.

Last updated 8 September 2026

Draft — pending legal review. The operating entity, its registered address and the governing law for this document are still being confirmed with counsel, and are marked to be confirmed below. Until that is done, treat this page as a statement of how FRANWORLD actually handles data and not as a completed legal notice. Questions in the meantime go to privacy@franworld.com.

Who you are agreeing with

These terms are between you and [entity to be confirmed], registered at [entity to be confirmed], which operates FRANWORLD (“we”, “us”). They apply whenever you use the site. The law governing them and the courts that would hear a dispute are [entity to be confirmed]. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

What FRANWORLD is — and is not

FRANWORLD is a marketplace. Franchise brands publish what they offer; people considering a franchise search, compare, and choose to send an enquiry. We introduce the two. That is the whole of it, and the following limits are not fine print — they change what you should rely on:

We are not your adviser. Nothing on FRANWORLD is legal, tax, financial or investment advice, and no page is a recommendation to buy any franchise. We are not a franchise broker or a franchise seller, we do not represent you in a transaction, and we are not paid a commission on any franchise you buy. Take independent professional advice before signing anything.

  • We do not deliver disclosure documents. A Franchise Disclosure Document, prospectus or equivalent comes from the brand, on the timetable the law in your country sets. Our tools may help you read one; they do not replace it.
  • We do not vet the offer. Where a brand is marked as verified, that verification is of the business against public registers, with each finding sourced and dated. It is not an audit, not an endorsement, and not a statement that the franchise is a good investment.
  • Numbers on a listing come from the brand. Investment ranges, fees, royalties and unit counts are supplied or published by the franchisor. We do not guarantee them, and you should confirm every figure with the brand in writing.

Third-party data on this site

Market statistics, legal summaries, tax rates, event listings and country data are published by third parties, compiled as-is, and may change. We do not independently verify the underlying data — check the source before acting on it. Every such figure carries its source and the date it was reviewed; where we could not source a number, we leave it blank rather than estimate it. For reference only; not legal, tax or investment advice.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and, if you act for a company, authorised to do so.
  • Give accurate information. A pre-qualification answer that is not true wastes a brand's time and your own, and we may remove an account that repeatedly does it.
  • Sign-in codes are emailed to you and are personal. Do not forward them or let someone else use your account.
  • Tell us promptly at privacy@franworld.com if you think someone else has reached your account.

Listing a brand

If you publish a listing, you confirm that you own or are authorised to license the brand, that the figures are accurate at the date given, and that you hold the rights to every image and trademark you upload. You keep ownership of what you upload; you grant us the licence needed to display it on FRANWORLD and in emails and reports about your listing. You are responsible for keeping the listing current, and for complying with the franchise disclosure and advertising law of every market you accept enquiries from.

We may decline, edit or remove a listing that is inaccurate, unlawful, misleading, or that offers something other than a genuine franchise or licence opportunity. We may also pause a listing while a complaint is looked into.

Fees, leads and refunds

  • Free for people looking for a franchise. Searching, comparing, shortlisting, the calculators and sending an enquiry cost nothing, ever.
  • Brands pay. Either per qualified lead, or by subscription. Prices and what each plan includes are on the services page and are the ones that apply.
  • Pay-per-lead is only charged for leads that meet the published qualification bar. An enquiry below the bar is not delivered with contact details and is not billed.
  • Each lead goes to one brand and is never resold — see the no-resale guarantee, including what we refund if we ever break it.
  • Subscriptions renew until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the paid period. We do not refund part-months, and we do not stop your service early when you cancel.
  • Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

What you may not do

  • Scrape, bulk-download or republish our listings, data or index scores, or use them to train a model, without written permission.
  • Send enquiries you do not mean, or use another person's identity or contact details.
  • Use contact details received through FRANWORLD for anything other than responding to that enquiry — no adding them to a marketing list, no reselling them onward.
  • Attempt to reach accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or interfere with the site's operation.
  • Upload anything unlawful, defamatory, or infringing someone else's rights.

Availability, and what we are responsible for

We work to keep FRANWORLD available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunity, or for the outcome of any franchise you do or do not buy. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any right you have as a consumer under the law of your own country.

Where a brand is at fault — an inaccurate listing, a promise not kept, a franchise agreement that disappoints — your claim is against that brand. We will help you reach them and will act on a complaint about a listing, but we are not a party to the agreement between you.

Ending it

You can close your account at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless the law prevents us. Closing an account does not cancel fees already due, and does not undo enquiries already delivered.

Changes

We may update these terms. When a change materially affects you we will update the date above and tell registered users by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use FRANWORLD after that means you accept the new version.
