Policy · For franchisors

Your lead is never sold to a competitor.

One enquiry. One brand. One fee. We do not resell, syndicate or re-market any lead you pay for — and we invite you to test that in the most direct way possible.

The policy, in four sentences

  1. An enquiry made about your brand is delivered to you alone.
  2. We never sell, share, syndicate or licence that enquiry to another franchisor — in any category.
  3. We never re-market it to promote a competing brand.
  4. If we ever break this, we refund every lead you have bought from us.

Why this policy exists

The franchise-portal category has a well-documented structural problem: the same investor enquiry is often monetised across several competing brands. This is not an accusation from a rival — it is acknowledged inside the industry itself. An expert writing in a pro-portal, International Franchise Association-published piece advises franchisors to secret shop portals precisely to find out whether their leads are being recycled. When the recommended defence against a channel is to go undercover on it, the channel has a trust problem.

The economics follow from simple arithmetic. An investor whose enquiry reaches several brands at once can sign with only one of them — so every other brand that paid for that same enquiry paid for a conversation it could not win.

Source note. Lead pricing of $28–$100, most commonly $30–$60 (with Entrepreneur.com reported at 2–3× typical portal rates) is verified. Reported growth in franchisor portal usage from 61.9% to 68.6% comes from a single vendor survey whose methodology is not published — we treat it as indicative only. Until 15 September 2026 this section also quoted a portal lead-to-close rate of about 0.3%, credited to FranConnect. We removed it because FranConnect's own report pages do not state it; see the methodology page.

What exclusivity changes for you

You are not in a race

The investor is not simultaneously being pitched by three competitors who bought the same enquiry. Your first call is a conversation, not a sprint.

Your cost per deal is honest

When a lead can only close with you, spend maps to outcomes you control instead of to a shared pool.

Your brand isn't a comparison prop

Recycled leads turn franchisors into a shortlist someone else assembled. Exclusive leads keep the relationship yours.

The incentive is aligned

We make money once per enquiry, so our only way to grow is to send you enquiries worth paying for again.

Secret shop us — here's exactly how

The industry's own advice for detecting lead resale is to go undercover. We are not going to argue with that advice; we are going to hand you the instructions.

  1. Create an email address and phone number we have never seen.
  2. Use them to enquire about one brand on Franworld — ideally not yours, so nobody on our side can recognise the test.
  3. Wait 30 days and log every company that makes contact.
  4. If any franchisor other than the one you enquired about reaches those details, email trust@franworld.com with the log.

If the test fails, we refund every lead you have ever bought from us — no negotiation.

One honest caveat so the test is fair: brands you enquire about may contact you more than once, and an investor who separately enquires about several brands will hear from several brands. What this challenge tests is whether we passed your details on. That is the part we control, and the part we are guaranteeing.

Questions

What exactly does the no-resale guarantee cover?

When an investor enquires about your brand through Franworld, that enquiry is delivered to you and to no other franchisor. We do not sell, share, syndicate, licence or re-market it to another brand — including brands in unrelated categories. The investor is of course free to enquire about other brands themselves; what we guarantee is that we will never make that decision for them, or profit from it twice.

How is that different from what other portals do?

Most lead-generation portals monetise a single enquiry across several franchisors. Lead recycling — the same prospect sold to multiple competing brands — is the most-documented complaint franchisors make about portals, to the point that a pro-portal expert writing for the International Franchise Association advises franchisors to secret shop portals specifically to detect it. Our model removes the incentive: one enquiry, one brand, one fee.

Does exclusivity cost more?

No. Pay-per-lead on Franworld starts at $35. Independent research puts typical portal lead prices at $28–$100, most commonly $30–$60, with Entrepreneur.com reported at two to three times typical portal rates. We sit at the low-to-middle of that range and do not resell — so you are paying market price for a structurally different product.

How do I verify the guarantee?

Secret shop us. Submit a decoy enquiry through Franworld using contact details we have never seen, then wait. If any franchisor other than the one you enquired about contacts those details, we have broken this policy — tell us and we will refund every lead you have ever bought from us. We publish this challenge because we expect to pass it.
